This comment came up in Bible study a few weeks ago, "We need to stop living like sinners saved by grace, and start living like saints dead to sin." This comment has been swimming in my mind since then and what is my attitude towards how I deal with sin. Coincidentally, this is my discipleship study topic for this week.
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our lord. - Romans 6:11

That last part is the key, Carlos. "Dead to sin, but ALIVE to God through Jesus Christ." There are way too many dead churches who have missed the "alive" part.
"Sinner saved by grace" - or better, "saint woh screws up from time to time." sorry - best I've got. Lost my keys :)
I think, Rick, the point that was being made was that the "sinner saved by grace" was a person who was resolved to just accept that they were going to keep on sinning. By contrast, living as a Saint dead to sin (who does screw up from time to time) was embracing the truths that Paul taught in Romans 6.
I'm good with that - as long as we remember the caveat that I am still going to screw up from time to time. Like trying to make a joke about the keys - I apologize for that.
Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Romans 7:17
I think we are tracking.
