Until I posted this I had no idea that a Trek XI was in the works. Then I find this on AICN, and find out that Jeff Abrams (MI III, Lost, Alias) is associated with the directing and writing. The subject matter may be a TOS story of Kirk and Spock in Starfleet Academy (I have heard Bennett kick this idea around for years). Will continue to monitor sensors.
I don't know about you guys, but I am just not sure that movie could be, or should be, made. To me, the Trek Franchise ran out of gas with IV. There was a brief gasp of air with First Contact (still my favorite of the Next Gen movie).

Who will play the characters? Leonard Nemoy and William Shatner are as old as dirt now! :-P

One source reports that J.J. Abrams has enlisted Shatner's help to convince Matt Damon to play Kirk.

My sources tell me that Robin Williams may reprise his "Mork from Ork" role.
